Had dinner a week ago at Bouchee in Carmel with my fiance and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. It has upscale California bistro food, I had the tasting menu which included a zebra tomato w reduction sauce first course, salmon second course and beef for the third course (just a little dry, least favorite) and a tasty chocolate tort dessert. My fiance had a fish entree which was very good.
I don't remember the specifics very clearly right now but overall impression was excellent execution on everything except the beef which was good but not up to the rest. Wine list was very good and in most cases less than obscenely priced. Prices were reasonable ($42 for tasting menu, $23 for average entree) for the quality of food and service which was very high. I would recommend it highly and am planning on heading back there.
