From Boston to PTown: Beer, clams, onion rings, chowder...

Buttered Toast | Sep 30, 2004 04:31 PM

I moved to Cape Cod (Orleans) from Santa Fe last week, and it looks as though I'll be I driving back and forth between Boston and PTown very regularly throughout the winter and spring.
I'm on the lookout for the best fried clams between Boston and the Outer Cape (I take I-93 to Rt.3 to Rt.6 homeward bound). I'd also love to know where I can find some good coffee on the Cape. I have had some terrible coffee here this past week. Ooh- and beer! Any suggestions for tasty local brews? I typically go for amber ales, IPAs, Belgian style beers etc. Most importantly, where can I find some serious onion rings like the ones they used to have at Liam's (Nauset Beach)? I think they're considered "Yankee-style"; sweet onions, very thin batter coating, melt in the mouth texture. None of that business with the bloated breadcrumbed bracelets you get elsewehere.
