This place has been getting lots of raves. Haven't been, but have been following the reports closely. Sounds good, in some cases very good. My husband and I were thinking of making reservations for our anniversary in March.
But I just read Sietsema's review in the Post. I also read the review by Kliman in the CP. Sietsema gives it two stars and sounded kinda lukewarm in his praise. I'm sensing that Tom sees it as more promising than accomplished at this point. Kliman was more direct and critical while also acknowledging some of its strong points (good, raw ingredients, esp. the fish, good desserts.) Again I got the sense of a restaurant that could reach its potential but just is not there yet.
Does anyone else find this just a teensy bit interesting? There's a disconnnect here and I don't usually see that happening so much, either with this board or over there on The Other Board. I wonder if this is one of those cases of the critics differing from the public of if the early reports are a little premature or if there's just been a lot of hype for this place.
