Bistro Dinner, Le Central or Anjou?

curiousgeo | Dec 20, 2007 02:16 PM

Which of the two do you prefer? Looking for a reasonably priced meal with a glass of wine in the Union Square vicinity for my wife and I. Both Le Central and Anjou seem to fit what we are looking for. Seeking a great onion soup, maybe steak frites, duck confit, roast chicken, maybe a well prepared cassoulet, something comforting in cold weather.

I like that Herb Caen was a regular at Le Central since I used to follow his column, so that seems to be an old school type of place. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
