Last night a group of us headed into Phoenixville for a few drinks during 'Oktoberfest' (closed down the main street there). One of our friends is a bartender at Bistro on Bridge (http://www.bistroonbridge.com/) so we decided to check it out. The place was a mob scene, as was pretty much every establishment on the main street. A very interesting menu, but our group was interested more in the quick eats and then getting our drink (and shuffleboard) on. Thankfully, the burgers/sandwich selection was pretty solid. One guy got the quesadilla (standard) and an order of Parmesan garlic wings, which were very tasty. A little dry, but a great flavor. Two others got the Tuscan burger, which had pesto, prosciutto, roasted reds and a combo of gorgonzola, provolone and parmesan. They raved about it. I went with the Smoked Gouda burger, which I can honestly say was one of the better burgers I've had in a while. It was simple, topped with a tangy BBQ sauce, applewood bacon and a thick slice of melted smoked Gouda. The 8 oz. burger was cooked to a perfect medium on a rich brioche roll. The gouda really was the star, delivering a great flavor. Some nice crispy fries accompanied and it was a very delicious plate.
The menu looks interesting and I'll definitely be back to try it.
