Bistro Box, Cafe Adam, Marios...Great Barrington

Bistro Box - what a breathe of fresh air! BB is a food shack at the end of the driveway of Bogies on Rt 7 in Great Barrington. Its not your typical shack food. Delicious sandwiches, salads, burgers. I get the BOX burger every time ( 4 x now ) with swiss and tomato bacon jam. You can get a side of lightly salty fries, or a side of truffle/parmesan fries which are so tasty. Really, really great spot. People have tried before in that space but failed. BB is a huge hit and its a young local couple running it so hurray for them!

Café Adam - I have been waiting to go back for quite some time. Finally went this past weekend. It was really good, not exceptional. I think I was going in looking to be absolutely blown away...I wasn't.
(I have been blown away before there) My husband and I had: artichoke app which I did love, calamari which I liked a lot, I had an anchovy salad that was just ok, my husband had a steak he liked a lot, I hate dates wrapped in bacon and stuffed with goat, I LOVE rich heavy food. I have never not finished something because it was too rich. these were too much. they were delicious, but I yikes. I also ordered a side of kim chee just because I was curious to what it was (have seen it on TV food challenge shows) and I was not impressed at all, especially for the price. I ordered the chocolate molten cake which I have had before there, and I remember it being one of the best chocolate desserts I've ever had, but not this time. it underwhelmed me. Cocktails were good...all in all great night, but I don't need to rush back.

Dinner at John Andrews last summer was far better....

Marios....anyone been? I have heard a lot of great things....I am going next Friday night and will report back. I don't have high hopes...
