Thanks to all who commented. We had a lovely lunch there yesterday. The tasting menu was not available as it was only the 3rd day of the term. The new students were guests of the school in the dining room that day, all spiffy in their chef's whites. From the regular lunch menu, we started with shiso-wrapped halibut tempura with field greens and ponzu sauce amuses. For starters, cold-smoked beef carpaccio with crispy shallots on arugula, with a large-grain mustard sauce; SO had mussels in white wine sauce with french-bread toast points. Mains were veal loin with sauteed sweetbreads on "sweet" mashed potatos with leeks for me; SO had poached wild salmon with creme fraiche potato salad. The breads were excellent, especially the raisin nut, and the large crispy cheeze triangles. For dessert, we had one chocolate (Valhrona) souffle, and a "trio" dessert: small chocolate decadence, sour cherry Linzer torte, and puckery lemon sorbet on a slice of candied lemon with mint. Every dish was distinctive and delicious. The service was excellent. The room is very pleasant, and spotlessly clean. I will certainly return.
