Horrified by the "bought" rolls and biscuits served at the extended family gathering on Thanksgiving (My grandmother has become to frail and the next generation apparently too lazy), I announced that I would bring both, homemade.
I will need to drive both about 12 miles to my grandmother's where I can cook them in her also-frail oven. My mom says she has no idea how I will accomplish such because moving risen yeast rolls will cause them to deflate and cook into bricks. (She has not expressed an opinion on the biscuits, other than recommending frozen back-ups.)
Do you agree with the moving-will-degrade opinion? Suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm planning to either make Martha Stewart's "health roll" which I have made numerous times with good results, or Martha's Parker House rolls recipe which I think would be more appreciated by traditionalists. However, I'm open to suggestions.
