Belated Apology for Racist Comments

Ciaohound | Jul 26, 2002 10:05 AM

In my posting of our Chinatown Walk #1, I related a comment made by another person that, "The Chinese taught the Jews how to be thrifty".

Being that this was a direct quote by another, I failed to think of the racist connotations that this contained.

Nothing racially demeaning was intended, and even though I found this comment to be humorous at the time, I apologize for my insensitivity to either Jewish or Chinese people.

Thanks to Peter, Derek, and my wife Ann for pointing this out to me and reminding me of how insensive and dangerous stereotypical attitudes can be. I am truly sorry.
