Spent a great week in Vancouver and Whistler, sunny days and cool evenings, perfect weather. Food highlights as follows:
Caramba Ristorante in Whistler; a bit noisy but that's part of the fun here, terrific calamari appetizer, nicely done pastas and delicious meats grilled on the spit.
Dublinh Gate Pub in Whistler; real comfort food, great on a cold night, Shepherds Pie, Irish Stew and crispy beer battered Fish and Chips.
Shijo in Vancouver; competent sushi bar with a nice selection of grilled and fried menu items as well.
Imperial Seafood in Vancouver; excellent dim sum and fried rice in a beautiful setting over the harbor.
Cin Cin in Vancouver; warmly lit room with gracious service, excellent Caesar salad, well prepared pasta dishes and crisp pizza from their wood oven.
Disappointments; lack of good breakfast places in Whistler Village, a place with good pancakes, waffles, eggs and hashbrowns. Cafe de Paris in Vancouver; not a bad meal but a definite step down from the previous owner and chef, the dishes just didn't sparkle like before.
All in all a great trip, hope we can return for another visit soon.
