The battle of the gyro

Stopped in Greek Corner on Mass Ave in Cambridge (a block from Quingdao Garden, which closes at 7 by the way?) for a gyro. Ordered it with extra tzatziki sauce, which was a mistake because it came out a mess when upwrapped. However, the lamb, ingredients and excellent grilled pita bread combined to make one delicious $5.50 gyro. I could have used a little more tomato, but still ... the option to get salad and fries or soup for $2 more was tempting but I opted against it.

Conversely, the gyro plate at Farm Grille in Newton is about $7.95 and comes with a somewhat weak salad of iceberg, fetta, and a hunk of tomato. I think the sandwich itself is larger at Farm Grille and they grill the meat momentarily after slicing it from the cylinder of deliciousness so it's more crispy. The pita is also grilled.

It's a tough call which is better.
