(First off, thanks for ALL the great suggestions to my post, about 3wks. ago. Re: Above subject. Secondly, what a difference 6mos. make !
My Chowpups' specific activity interests and patiance both GREATLY grew. Ergo, We went to fewer places to eat but were able to stay much longer than on our last visit. Also our trip was shorter than expected. Sadly MANY of the most interesting suggestions just couldn't be made. Next time !)

Here are some of the notables:

Ella's ( Presidio @ Calif.): Great B-Fast. Amazing fruit plate. Perfect eggs w/ Ham (nothing pressed and formed here.) Great service. Strong Coffee. Loved it !

Tommy's ( Geary around 24th): I'd heard "GREAT margaritas, don't go for the food." There's better of both in town, I'm sure, but I loved this place. As we arrived two happy people were leaving after a fun meal. The place was empty except for an older man, who worked there (Tommy ?) and his party of six ranging in ages, eating, laughing, talking, they made the place VERY warm. We had a simple chicken enchilada w/ mole. Perfectly good. The mole was simple but fine. Rice and beans were better than most. Margaritas were very good. As we were leaving two more people were excitedly discussing thier margarita pitcher options. I say GO ! Fun place. (FYI: May be cash only.)

Zuni: Past dinners had been a BIG disappointment, for me. Lunch was great. Potato leek soup with a hambuger. Yum ! Loved sitting outside. VERY nice service. We'll go back.

L'Osteria....? (North Beach, Columbus near Union): Delicious pizza with great "glasses" ( I mean old school glasses) of red wine. Everything looked GREAT. Can't wait to go back. (Also cash only.)

Orphan Andy's ??? (Market near Casro): B-fast . If like The Pork Store (which I do) You'll like this place. Smaller. Very friendly. Solid choice.

Blondie's: BIG chewy pizza. We loved it. NOT for everyone !

Rouge Ale House (Union @ Powell): Yikes. I've had thier brews up and down the Pacific Coast and LOVE them. The beer I had here was like watching a tire go, slowly, flat. After the first sip I was afraid to order food, even pub grub. Strange, sad "vibe." I'd guess it'll be closed by our next visit.

Marin Brewing: Only had time for a quick, delicious IPA.

Main and Tiburon ??? Gu...??? A friend recommended this "mexican" place. ( I'll have him remind me and re-post.) Beautiful setting. Great food.

These were the notables. Sorry it was soooo long. Thanks again. (6mos. and counting !)
