Bar at Lucques, update

seth-fan and I just got back from dinner at the bar at Lucques and not only was this not Seth's last night but he wasn't even there! We were told we were a week early, so will be returning to catch him Tuesday. So the mistake just cost us another fine meal.

Sidecar not as good as last time (too sweet this. Nice Australian bartender whose name I forget, but last time it was a Danish? fellow working alongside Seth and his was better). Learned about Seth's own negroni and had a splendid artichoke/asparagus/bottarga salad (ingredients didn't marry so well but it's like truffle/foie gras/lobster: you can't go too wrong) followed by wild salmon w/cornbread and cherry tomato vinaigrette. Seth-fan had the bar menu steak frites which is good but worth remembering that it's flank steak.
