Dinner was dreadful at Tchoup Tchoup last night. We wanted something spicy and we got Stouffers like offerings. They called it "Tender Sake Braised Beef Short Ribs
on Caramelized Onion Mashed Potatoes with Burgundy Veal Reduction Sauce".It was more like a tv dinner pot roast. About a tsp of sauce, cold potatoes, limp green beans. Edible but uninspired.
I had 3 appetizers in lieu of an entree.
Crunchy shrimp is still good. The other things were dreadful and I just ate a bite of each, complained but there was no offer of replacement, no manager came to see us, nothing removed from the bill. Big mistake. Restaurant was virtually empty at 7 p.m. I wouldn't expect it to be packed the week before Christmas, but 4 tables?
It is a shame to see such a beautiful space used for industrial cafeteria food. We sat at the kitchen bar. Three cooks just reheating premade things. No fire, no flair, no taste! Bummer
