Baked to Perfection in Port Washington...Why no Mentions?!?

So for the last few months I've been OBSESSED with Robert Ellinger's unfussy, seemingly under-the-radar bakery on Main Street in Port Washington. Unbelievable first-rate cookies, cakes, breads, babkas and my favorite item and the one that ended up being in my top three most delicious bites of 2009, his outlandishly delicious ice cream sandwich: vanilla ice cream ( and I am a total chocolate girl) housed between two thin crispy, slightly bitter lacey almond cookies, one end dipped into a thick coating of dark chocolate. A total taste revelation- sweet, creamy, crunchy, salty! All of Ellinger's confections are made with real butter and the vast array of cakes he is commissioned to make is staggering; it's fun to look through the myriad photo books he has on his shelf.

The bakery is easy to miss what with its drab exterior. But it's a total, not-to-be missed gem. I, personally, will never set foot into Saint Honore again. And I am more than willing to come from my home in North Flushing for a sugar fix.

Has anyone here ever been? I did a search and was shocked that nothing came up. This is a pantheon of hyper-delicousness. What gives?
