On Authentic Jamaican Beef Patties . . .

Kris P | Aug 19, 200404:19 AM

Ok foodies, I'm on a quest for LA's best of that ubiquitous West Indian delicacy: The beef pattie. Akin in both spelling and composition to the Cornish Pastie, this colonial cousin offers up a flaky pastry crust enclosing a savory, complex and spicy minced beef (or chicken) filling. The best I've ever had was purchased from a vendor booth about a decade ago at an outdoor Reggae Sound System Clash at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Rancho Cienega Park. Sadly, I've since long-forgotten the name of the vendor.
Only freshly-made, non-commerical and hot need apply here oh, and the more orange the crust, the better.

Thanks in advance. Yeah mon.
