Across the street from the 88 Tofu House, just inside of I-285 on the right side of Buford Highway as you head north.
Excellent lengua (tongue) and Al Pastor (spiced pork), good carnitas tacos. Terrific salsa roja from red roasted chiles and tangy and picant salsa verde with its tomatillo base. Serves beer. Reformed fast food location offers table service and comfortable seating.
Now sufficiently encouraged after the initial visit yesterday, other selections from the menu that remain to be tried:
--The Super Burrito with rice and beans.
--The Sopes and gorditas.
--The seafood--cocteles, soups and so forth.
--The Birria de Chivo de Borregao, menudo and pozole on the weekends.
A Columbian-American car salesman from Union NJ, recently arrived in Atlanta, of similar substantial heft to myself, tipped me off about this place several weeks ago.
I'm glad I finally got there. Its a keeper when in the neighborhood, and certainly worthy of giving Los Reyos a run for its money.
