Asperge Sauvage?

The other night at dinner I ordered a dish that was served with Asperge Sauvage. I'm told that this is wild asperagus (this was French). It has a normal-width asperagus tip about 3/4 of an inch long, on a long pencil-thin stem. Does anyone know if and where these can be purchased in LA?
