I was checking dehillerin website and they suddenly have fedex shipping for 55 euro from 208 euro for some other service. I quickly went and grabbed 36cm rondeau. I then get email next day saying that 36cm is backordered and won't be in until end of september, but they have 40cm in stock, which they can offer it to me instead. Reluctantly (lol), i grabbed it.
Being lightly hammered gives it an elegant look. I knew it was as such, as I seen actual pics of the unit before, vs what you see on their site... if only those pics were better :).
Only thing I gotta say is - big sucker. I used it as justification to sell 2 of my other pots (falk too, most likely) to hopefully make this net zero. This unis is 3.5mm thick, 17 liters capacity, which means, its 2x my falk, so I can make a lot. I do think 36cm would have been a better fit, but you know how it is. I gotta applaud them though, it was shipped Monday and got delivered Wednesday, which is like the record time for fr to usa delivery.
I am attaching pics and yes, before anyone says it, it's huge, especially for my stove, but burner being 22k BTU, should support it fine (being copper helps, obviously)
I hope to make a new batch of bolognese few weeks from now, and Ill post pics and such.. Idea to use 3lbs of lamb, 3 lbs of pork, 6 pounds of beef, 2 pounds of chicken livers and gallon, 3 quarts of stock and up to a quart of heavy cream + 5-6 lbs of veggies...
