Argana wayyy downhill

so, I've always had a mixed experience at the Argana & its predecessor le Bistro, which I believe had some of the same management, but last night's dinner was so shoddy I'll never go back.

It's true that they didn't have the lamb mrouzia, which was my standard order there, & which never disappointed me ever. But the couscous Argana was so perfunctory it was insulting. The couscous could have been bought at Johnnie's Foodmaster, the kebabs were inferior to those you can get at Charlie's Kitchen, and the salad greens were wilted. The merguez was dry & tasteless. The waiter almost stabbed me with the used cutlery & I am vastly relieved we didn't yield to the unseemly pressure to get an appetizer (the appetizers have been consistently mediocre at Argana with the exception being my first visit maybe three years ago).

What is wrong with this place!? I really miss the lamb mrouzia, by the way, which was superb. I've had outstanding service there too, back in the day, but I'll never forget the day my waiter was nearly in tears because of the maître d' who was clearly out of his mind.
