Went to Aquitaine last night for dinner. The restaurant was quiet and dark with comfortable booths and white tablecloths.
I ordered the French Onion Soup which was a delicious rendition. Also tried the mussels - excellent but very rich. Great for dunking bread in but made me not want to eat my main course because I was so full. I had the halibut with what I thought had been advertised as a saffron risotto but it came with a mushroom risotto (could have been my ears). It was good, but not great. The thyme beurre blanc was fabulous. My husband ate the duck ravioli and raved but thought they might be a little on the sweet side for some.
All in, it was a pretty good experience. I wouldn't rush back but I would definitely eat there again and recommend it for a night out in the South End
