Apple Fritters

g | May 26, 2004 02:22 AM

Does anyone know where to get an honest to goodness apple fritter around here? I don't want anything to do with donuts filled with some sort of chunky apple jelly. The doughed, fried apple slices of county fairs have their place, but that's not what I'm craving. I'm talking about the giant, angry-red, misshapen fritters you can get at any 24-hour teriyaki/donut joint worth its salt in the Central Valley, or at any Winchell's Donuts out West.

This doesn't bode well for tomorrow if I am up at 2am and can't stop thinking about fritters.
