Announcement Thread: December 2014 COTM "THE ESSENTIAL NEW YORK TIMES COOKBOOK"

qianning | Nov 22, 201412:03 PM     7

After a lively discussion about which book to revisit in December and a fairly close vote "THE ESSENTIAL NEW YORK TIMES COOKBOOK" by Amanda Hesser came out ahead of the other possibilities to become our next Cookbook of the Month (COTM).

There's lots on the web about Ms. Hesser, for example here's a link to her bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_H... . Or take a look at the blog she co-founded: http://food52.com/ Or perhaps read this interview where she discusses her own cookbook collection: http://www.seriouseats.com/2014/09/am...

As for the book itself, what better place to start than the COTM threads from 2011: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/763224

If you are new to COTM or just want a refresher on other books we've enjoyed in the past, this link takes you to the archive, http://www.chow.com/cookbook_of_the_m...

The first of December the reporting threads will go up (more accurately, the threads from 2011 will be dusted off and re-titled to include the 2011 and 2014 COTM designation). In the meantime use this space to discuss your preparation for the December book.
