anniversary dinner

Looking for someplace for our 4th anniversary. We've never found anyplace we were completely happy with:

Year one - someplace in the Valley with "moonlight" in the title. I don't think it's there anymore. Just Ok food.

Year two - Il Cielo. Gorgeous restaurant. Wonderful staff. Not wowed by the food.

Year three - The Raymond. Lovely place. Perfect ambience. Food good, but not memorably outstanding.

I really, REALLY wanted to go to Chianti this year; of course, just my luck, I found out it's closed. I'm looking for old world charm. Nice, romantic ambience. Not even a hint of "trendy." OUTSTANDING food. Cuisine can be American, Californian, Italian. Anyplace East of the 405. We work in Century City/Midtown; live in Pasadena, so anyplace there or between the two.
