My dear husband and I are heading up to Anchorage (from Seattle) late this month for our second anniversary. Neither of us have been before. I need recommendations for our anniversary dinner spot. Looking for something like Matt's in the Market or Harvest Vine (in Seattle). Don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money but good food, quality ingredients and ambiance are important. Ideally, the place would focus on fresh, seasonal and local foods. We're not picky eaters, so the menu can be short. Last anniversary we dined at Brasserie L'ecole in Victoria- that was perfect.
Any ideas? We'll be staying at the Millenium Hotel a couple miles outside of downtown. Not yet sure if we'll be renting a car but will surely be able to make it into town.
Any other recs for that w/e are welcome. We'll need to find a good coffee shop and prefer small breakfasts to big, heavy, cooked ones (our regular w/e breakfast spot in Seattle is Cafe Besalu). Need at least one other dinner out and a couple lunches too.
Many thanks, hounds.
