Had a very nice dinner at Amuse on Saturday. I like the concept of the restaurant -- smaller plates that allow for sampling of more items. It's not quite tapas -- the plates tend to be a little larger, especially at the higher end of the price range, but the concept is similar. I thought the food was very, very good. Between two of us we sampled 6 dishes: grilled calamari (good), asparagus risotto (very good), mussels (excellent), flake shashimi with grapefruit (very good), duck (very good) and squab (excellent). Plus, we shared perhaps the best creme broulee I've ever tasted (I'm not a big fan, but this was REALLY creamy and delicious). All that, plus two drinks each, came to $125 (tax and tip included). Pretty good value for the money.

One caveat -- this is clearly a very "happening" place right now, and although I liked both the decor and the service, the tables are quite close together and it is perhaps the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. There were times that my friend and I could barely hear one another.
