My sister just returned from 2 years in Moscow where she was teaching English. She stayed a week with my GF and I in Brooklyn..
A couple of days after our arrival she commented that she was amazed how much we and others talked about food. I presume it is not even close to being a dominating topic in Moscow.
I wonder if this was because my GF and I are chowhounds or just because NYers or Americans in general are food lovers and exposed constantly to the subject.
