Al's Cafe [San Francisco] - La Lengua Chronicles Part 3

Date dined: 3/1/12

I went here for a weekday breakfast with one dining companion. I had simple eggs over easy, with hash browns (re-fried and crispy) and toast (I substituted a biscuit, which was fine but not very special). Everything was fine but not too special. My dining companion had the California Scramble, which I didn't taste, but it looked better than mine – egg whites, avocado, tomato, cheddar and basil, also served w/ hash browns and toast. The scramble was a generous serving, and my dining companion seemed to really enjoy it.

Hot salsa on the table, which we were encouraged to try, was quite nice – it was a brown-ish color, and I couldn't quite distinguish all the spices/flavors, but it was good and tasted homemade. It wasn't particularly spicy.

As we were leaving, a diner at a different table ordered French toast, which looked good. Thick cut, Texas-toast style. Might need to try this if I visit again!
