Alladin on Diversey

gonzobean | Sep 18, 200306:55 PM

Stopped into Alladin (Diversey/Clark) for lunch today and was very disappointed. The menu reads really grand, but the food is decidedly bland. I tried the Hummos Chicken Plate for $7.95, which was basically about 1/2 cup of strangely grilled chicken (some black color, decent texture, but zero flavor) piled on top of a plate of hummos with some tomato cubes and parsley mixed in. Nary a dusting of flavorless paprika, and no drizzle of oil that I have come to love. The hummos itself (called out as "famous" in the menu) was bland as can be... just plain pastey, with no discernible lemon, garlic, or even salt/pepper flavors.

Has anyone else had tastier food from this place? I wanted to like it but for now I will stick with Andies and the like...
