I was at the Alibi Room for a wedding function last night and I was amazed at the on-tap selection there. It's just what I was looking for in Vancouver, after being wowed by all the beer bars in Toronto, where you'd find at least a dozen local craft brews and decent food to go with it. And let's not forget about cask days festival in TO as well...

Anyways, the standout of the evening was the Blueberry Porter. It was the first time I'd ever had a porter with fruit in it. It was a great match, flavourwise. I'll have to try a full pint of it next time. I'm a big fan of raspberry ales, lambics, etc, and I grab Fruli whenever I see it for sale. I'm really not a beer expert (I'm a beer advocate!) but I know I can't stand the macro stuff. I love what the owners are doing by offering a great selection of BC craft brews on tap. The west coast needs more stuff like this.

Great space to have a party in as well...upstairs for dining and speeches etc, downstairs lounge for drinks, dancing etc. Dinner was buffet-style with Pemberton farm-raised beef (grass-fed?). Lean and tasty!

I'll have to come back here soon and try another round of beer samplers.
