The Coon Feed has been an annual dining experience for many, who sample the all-you-can-eat buffet of roasted raccoon, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread stuffing, sauerkraut and rye bread.
"It tastes like beef," McNulty insisted.
To feed 400 people, organizers need 90 to 100 raccoons.
"A lot of the guys are getting old, and they just aren't up to running dogs through the woods anymore," said Jim Appenzeller, owner of Jim's Sports Heaven in Oconomowoc.
