71 Clinton short report

Went to 71 Clinton on Friday night. Thought we'd see how it was surviving post-WD. My boyfriend and I had the bisque and the rabbit salad to start and then the loin of lamb and the prawns. Although all were good; none were fantastic. The rabbit was tender and well prepared, but seemed bland. No sauce or salt or almost anything. Just rabbit. Same with the lamb. Delicious lamb, but no sauce. All you taste is the lamb. Maybe that was the point, but it lacked something in our mouths. The bisque and the prawns were quite good, but both too salty for our taste. In other words, everything was slightly off.

As for the room, it's a bit cramped, so expect to get to know your neighbors and what they're having. The staff is very nice and the room was full, so they're not losing business to WD 50 yet.

All in all a bit of a disappointment, esp. at the prices they charge - $100 for 2 of us with only one glass of wine apiece & no coffee or dessert.
