The much-criticized Philly's Smoke House in Long Island City is running full-page ads in Queens weekly newspapers for its "First Annual New Year's Eve Hootenany" from 7PM until ???? of January 1, 2003. A charge of $80 per person provides "All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Buffet, unlimited beer, party favors, Mystery Prize balloon drop, and complimentary champagne toast at midnight." Diamond Joe Siddons, described as "Texas' Own" and presumably an entertainer, will be performing all night long. A 50% deposit is required at time of reservation.
