My wife and I will be spending a couple of days in Shanghai on the front end of a Himalayan adventure. We have two open dinner slots for this first time visit to Shanghai and would appreciate your recommendations. Some details:
* we are staying on the Bund and would prefer to walk or not drive too far for dinner.
* on the first day, we are taking a walking tour of the Bund followed by a high end Cantonese lunch.
* second day is a walking tour of local food markets followed by lunch at a traditional Shanghai style restaurant
* for the two dinners, we are looking for a glimpse of modern Shanghai. Any style cuisine is fine. Price point is flexible. Prefer it not be too formal or staid. Lively, fun, delicious beats exquisite and quiet. Want to have fun and come away with an impression of Shanghai as a future oriented international city.
Any Chowhound recommendations?
Thanks very much.
