11th Street Pizzeria - Slice Lite?

Philly Ray | Jun 8, 201203:10 PM

This place recently opened near us on 11th and Jackson Sts and we have liked what we have had so far. We have had their white pizza and a regular pizza with pepperoni. It reminds me very much of Slice (thin, crispy crust, crushed San Marzano tomato sauce, slightly burnt edges) but their prices are not as high. Granted, I do think they are using somewhat lesser quality ingredients than Slice but we just had a pizza with half pepperoni for about $11.00. For that price, I think it's worth checking out if you live nearby. However, I wouldn't drive across town for it.

My only gripe was that they charge the full price for a topping even if you only get it on half of the pizza (doesn't Slice do that too?). Is this something new? When we order from Franco & Luigi's they charge half price for a topping on half of the pizza.

It is possible that the person working the counter just charged me what was on the menu even though I specifically asked her about the full charge for the topping. Hopefully, the owner will be there the next time I go and I will ask about it. To me, the pizza is still a bargain and it tastes good, but that kind of thing just irks me.
