I'll try my best to do the meal justice.
There were 6 of us, 5 had the rest. wk menu, and we shared three appetizers off the menu. We shared the wild mushroom martini, the one-sided seared tuna, and the terrine beef & foie gras. The wild mushroom martini actually came in a martini glass! I guess the mushrooms was pureed very fine so that you can sip it from the glass, but we used spoons. It was a real hit. The tuna as in other restaurants was such a small dish - we wished we ordered another one. Otherwise, the meal started out well.
App: pea flan with morel and proscuitto, vichysoissee, pasta shells
Entree: monkfish, game hen, white bean ravioli
Dessert: chocolate parfait (brownie and ice cream), toasted almond panna cotta, and sorbet with cream
I tried everything, and they were all very good. I especially liked the white bean ravioli and pea flan. The pea flan was rich and creamy. The panna cotta itself was creamy but more bland than I expected, and the chocolate parfait was too sweet for me. The best balanced dessert was sorbet with cream. THe entree off the regular menu was the lamb shoulder and shank, and the meat was very tender - yummy!
All in all, this was a very satisfying meal. I will definitely be back to try more of the regular menu.
