Sri Siam Café absolutely does not disappoint, says Rosiepigs. “These guys are the real deal,” agrees mrgreenbeenz. “Cheap, delicious, and friendly—one of the gems of scenic NoHo.” What you want here is Northern Thai food. It is, says Rosiepigs, one of the few places to get crunchy rice salad in Los Angeles. The salad is excellent, with a generous selection of accompanying herbs. It’s not quite as mind-blowing as the version in the beloved Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas—but it’s here, and it’s really good, says Jwsel.
The grilled beef salad is good and sour, full of tasty rice powder, says Rosiepigs. But best of all is the khao soi (curry noodles). Rosiepigs “gladly shoveled spoonful after spoonful into my mouth,” and would have asked for seconds.
“Sri Siam Café is one of my favorite places to eat. Period!” says sel, whose favorite is whole fish with herbs and chiles. It’s more expensive than anything else on the menu at around $20 (price varies with the size of the fish), but it’s worth it. “That fish is in my top 10, maybe top 5 dishes I have ever had. Sri Siam rocks,” says Ciao Bob.
