After one hound lamented that Jodie’s Restaurant no longer serves fried chicken because of health code regulations barring the preparation of food in private homes, rworange swooped in with the save.

Out in Pinole, Tina’s Place, which relocated from El Sobrante, serves fried chicken that reminds her of Jodie’s … but is even better.

In another remarkable twist, the prices posted online for Tina’s Place are higher than what you’ll actually pay in the restaurant. For $11.95 you get half a chicken, potatoes, a buttered ear of corn on the cob, a sourdough roll, and a choice of soup or salad.

“One of the most fabulous deals in the Bay Area,” rworange declares.
