London’s Inamo restaurant is using a high-tech auto-ordering system, reports CBS’s Early Show. It creates an entire digital tabletop with “plates” in front of each diner that display an image of each dish on the menu. Clever. You see it, you want to order it. Diners can also customize their tabletops’ wallpaper, play computer games, and look up Tube maps. No Google searches though, reporter Richard Roth tells us.
This is not a new concept: Germany’s oddly named ’s Baggers even uses spiral rails to deliver food instead of the waiters that bring your order at Inamo. But the tabletops are much sexier at Inamo.
