Yum-O FireLake Happy Hour MSP

Hounds, I just started a new job downtown mpls, and was starving when I left after work
today- really craving a burger, but wanting it to be healthier type meat, so I went over to
FireLake since they use pretty much all local/organic type meats. Their happy hour menu
has 'sliders' for $2 each- 2 oz burgers in several types of meats- walleye, grass-fed beef,
pork, or lamb. I got one of the beef ones, and LOVED it! Had to order a 2nd one! They are
shaped kind of oblong for whatever reason, although the bun is round, so they stick out a bit
in a charming way. There is a delicious pickle slice and some mustard/mayo, nice eggy bun.
All are done 'medium' since they are so small (not sure if this is medium rare which would
be my normal desire for a full size burger, or medium well...)any way it was great!
Also had a side salad that was ok, had deep fried cheese curds in it that were kind of fun,
and an excellent homemade green goddess dressing. Also had the June special dessert
of strawberry shortcake with honey mascarpone and a biscuit- that was excellent and
quite artistically constructed.
