Restaurants & Bars

We will be visiting the Yucatan sometime in June,
staying in Puerto Morelos south of Cancun. We expect
to be very happy sampling local small restaurants
serving pescado al mojo de ajo, fresh tortillas, black
beans and margaritas, but we are open to suggestions.
Does anybody have any favorite restaurants in the
Cancun area? We will have access to a car.

P.S. Warning to anyone visiting the Yucatan or
Caribbean: Do not eat barracuda! I ate barracuda in
a restaurant in Cozumel three years ago and became the
lucky recipient of ciguatera poisoning, which is the
result of a neurotoxin that works its way up the food
chain to larger species of fish near coral reefs, and
which is a whole lot worse and longer lasting than
regular Montezuma's revenge. It is supposed to be
safe to eat "small" barracuda, but believe me, it's
not worth taking the chance.
