On our last day in China (on a nice fall Sunday at noon), I requested a stop at Yu Garden so I can try the famous xiao long bao. The line was at least an hour long for downstairs and upstairs so we walked around and just ate various snacks. The stinky tofu I tried wasn't stinky enough. The stinky tofu spring roll was briefly refried and came out extremely oily (again not very stinky or flavorful). The sour plum juice was okay. I aslo tried something they called "wok pie," which is a pan fried wrap containing lots of cabbage. Finally, the Xie Ke Huang (crab shell yellow) wasn't very good. Basically, I didn't find anything worth eating around Yu Garden in Old Shanghai.
