Yazmin Malaysian Restaurant - Alhambra

Had a great lunch with a friend today at Yazmin. Located on Main Street just east of Garvey, next to a hot dog/sausage place (gonna try that place next).
Ordered the Udang Keropok appetizer - almost like a tortilla which was stuffed with meat and veggies, served with a delicious sweet-tasting curry to drip over top. $3.95
Ordered from the lunch menu (asked the waiter what he would recommend):
Ayam Nangka Lemak: Chicken marinated with spices, simmered with jackfruit (we could not figure out what it was when we were eating it - thought maybe it was plantains), chili coconut milk & lemongrass in a dry curry sauce. Served with rice. It was okay, but it was probably my least favorite dish. It was sweeter than other curries I have had. $4.95 ($6.75 dinner)
Our favorite dish was from the fried noodles section and was called Char Kuei Teow: Stir-fried flat rice noodles with bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken, egg & leeks. We ordered it spicy, but it was not spicy enough so I added some chili sauce and soy sauce and got a wonderful tasting dish (we ate all of this dish)! $4.95 ($6.75 dinner)
They also offer Noodle Soups, Veggies, Vegetarian dishes - vegetarian satay & curry amongst other things that I am not sure what they are, Seafood, porridge.
Our lunch (with water to drink) was $16 not including tip.
Large portions, great, kind service, really fairly priced.
I would definitely recommend and will be back to try more soon. Has anyone else been? What do you recommend?
27 E Main Street, Alhambra. Parking behind restaurant. 626.308.2036
