I didn't expect much.
But, Woody's brick-oven charred crust is the nearest thing to the Connecticut giants that I've found in the Boston area. Whether that will appeal to you is, of course, a matter of personal taste. But, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by how good the crust was at Woody's. It is such an unassuming place. Pizza is barely even featured on the menu. Rather, the menu features typical bar food. After all, the place is more a bar than a restaurant. Wings, steak tips, etc. The pizza is a very happy anomaly. Yet another pie that may be worth mentioning among the Boston area's greats.
