Most notable of the list of new foods served on a stick at this year's State Fair was Chocolate-Covered Bacon. It is available at The Machine Shed stand on the western side of the park. It is $3.00 per serving; a serving is 2 skewers of chocolate covered bacon.
Having tried it, I find I feel about it the same way I feel about Las Vegas: I didnt hate it, but having tried it, I can safely say I dont ever need to try it again.
It was good, thick, crisp bacon, no doubt. The chocolate coating was thick. The taste was pretty much bleh. I dont think that it would have been improved by better, dark chocolate.
It wasnt too absurd for this food enthusiast to try, but it definitely goes in the category of "Just because it CAN be done doesnt mean that it SHOULD be done."
