We're having some pretty picky folks (no onions or green pepppers for him, mild to medium spice for her, no seafood, etc.) over for dinner on Sunday and I want to have wine and beer available. After much debating and consideration, we've decided on two pots of "soup" - a chicken and sausage gumbo (roux-based) and a spicy chili (sirloin, jalapenos, no beans)with a good baguette. I'm a wine novice (just starting to experiment and loving it) so need some sage advice.
I've tried some searching on this site, but haven't really come up with anything that matches as well as I'd hoped. If someone knows of a thread addressing this already, please point me in the right direction and I'll be eternally grateful!
And while I'm seeking advice, if anyone has any other side dish or salad ideas, or an easy chocolate based dessert, I'd love to hear 'em!
Thanks so much!
