Willow report

Melinda | Nov 16, 2005 07:31 PM

Well, my husband and I just returned home from dinner at Willow in Arlington. After plopping down $100, we both left dissatisfied--not so much to bring it to the attention of the manager, but enough that I don't think we'll return. Throughout the evening, service ranged from good, to inattentive, to downright annoying. The waitress, for example, came for our drink order 30 seconds after we sat down and brought our wine before anyone filled our water glasses. Bus boys hovered, waiting to whisk our dishes away at the very moment we dropped our forks and stopped eating. As an appetizer, the clams casino was underwhelming, with near raw clams. The rib eye was tough and flavorless, and the accompanying dish contained crunchy cubes of undercooked potatoes. The Willow flatbread, however, was tasty and would make a great appetizer for a larger party, but it wasn't a big enough draw to lure us back.
