Hello, I have been lurking for a long time, and finally cannot help myself and must post a question...and please go easy on me, I am a novice and here to learn. :)
I made a grapefruit yogurt cake yesterday from smitten kitchen's blog. The ONLY change to the recipe was that I used blood orange in place of grapefruit. And I lined the bottom of the loaf pan with parchment, but I only had the parchment that has foil on one side of it. The parchment side touched the cake, foil side to the pan.
Other than those two things, I followed the recipe exactly. (Am I allowed to post a link to the recipe?...if not, it's on the wonderful smitten kitchen blog...)
It tastes excellent!!! But the WEIRDEST thing happened - it has some honeycomb looking pattern inside of it. What is this from? It's like little creatures burrowed into it while cooking and made tunnels.
Hopefully you experts can solve the mystery - and the cake, regardless of the mystery infestation, was DELICIOUS!
