weekly Indonesian food fair at the Duarte Inn

AroundLAin80Days | Jul 23, 200504:08 PM

A few weeks ago, when I did a posting about the Indonesian restaurant Paradiso in Duarte, elmomonster asked if I had gone to the weekly Indonesian food fair at the Duarte Inn. It turns out that the event is within walking distance of Paradiso. (By the way, what kind of name is Paradiso for an Indonesian restaurant? I thought it was Italian at first.)

The food fair is sort of the Indonesian version of Wat Thai, except it’s not as large and, well, it’s in a hotel parking lot. The first time I went, I selected a combination plate of yellow rice, tofu, and green beans from a booth operated by Bali Island Indonesian Restaurant (of San Gabriel). The second time I went, I had four skewers of kambing (i.e., lamb) from another booth, which did not seem to be affiliated with a restaurant.

elmomonster -- You should come up from Orange County and do a report for your blog. Your powers of description are better than mine!
