First time, went to see if the hype for the new chef was for real. I must say I/we mostly were very impressed.
Dungeness crab with white peach sorbet, delicious and balanced, oysters fresh and clean, chowder was lacking any real distinct flavor and for $14 would have expected more than three tiny clams! Slow steamed halibut wow, melted like butter. Sturgeon, amazing texture/flavor matched with earthiness of red beets and morels. The $47 lobster however was incredible, butter poached with foie gras sauce and braised beef cheek tortelinni. all of the dishes were very weel presented and reminded us of Trotter's seafood Book. Service was exceptional, very calm, knowledgable and freindly. I agree wine list is a bit ridiculously priced, but I did not however, feel ripped off with food prices. Had a few mediocre meals in Vegas recently for quite a bit more $$. Will definately be back.
